Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to stepdown unit patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions, intervening promptly when necessary
• Administer medications and treatments with precision and attention to detail
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification to assess stroke patients
• DCI/BVP certification as required
• Prior stepdown or critical care experience preferred
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in cardiac and stepdown monitoring
• Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
• Comfortable with electronic charting and medical technology
• Adaptable and quick to respond to changing patient conditions
