Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Three 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, plus rotating call: short call (7:30 PM - 11:00 PM) or long call (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) weekly, and one to two 24-hour weekend calls per six-week schedule.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment for surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and surgical team during operations, anticipating needs and ensuring patient safety
• Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout procedures
• Advocate for patients before, during, and after surgery with compassion and professionalism
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care
• Document care accurately and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license verified through Nursys (Rhode Island license required or compact eligible)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Experience in operating room nursing preferred
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and evenings
• Must pass CNE Skills Checklist, Specialty Competency Exam, and Basic EKG Exam

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and operating room protocols
• Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills in fast-paced situations
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and rotating shifts
• Great communication and teamwork abilities
• Detail-oriented with a focus on patient safety
