Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures
• Monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, and overall patient status, intervening as needed
• Manage pain and administer medications as prescribed
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the healthcare team to ensure a smooth recovery
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Rhode Island or compact license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• Proven PACU experience required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of anesthesia recovery protocols
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
