Roles & Responsibilities

Implement and evaluate a comprehensive risk management program to protect patients and staff
Lead organization-wide patient safety initiatives, driving process improvements that reduce errors
Investigate adverse incidents, conduct Root Cause Analyses and Failure Mode Effects Analyses for meaningful change
Facilitate patient safety rounds and deliver impactful risk management education to teams
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations including DNV, TJC, CMS, and CARF
Collaborate with leadership on quality of care issues and support accreditation efforts through audits and reviews
Analyze patient grievances and coordinate compassionate disclosures to families

Qualifications

Current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska (must apply before start date for direct hire)
Certified CPHRM within two years
Clinical Competency required within 3 months and every 3 years thereafter
3+ years experience in risk management, patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance

Education

Registered Nursing license in Alaska
Certified CPHRM within 2 years
Clinical Competency certification

Knowledge & Skills

Strong leadership in facilitating cross-functional teams and collaborative group work
Expertise in regulatory standards like DNV, TJC, CMS, CARF
Proficiency in Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and Failure Mode Effects Analyses (FMEA)
Knowledge of Alaska statutes and federal laws related to risk management
Current awareness of industry risk trends and clinical advancements
