Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for outpatient surgical patients in the OR and EOC outpatient setting
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Perform accurate, timely documentation using EPIC to support continuity of care
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control and trauma center protocols
• Respond calmly and effectively to intraoperative changes and emergencies
• Float to the main OR as needed to support staffing and patient care demands
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (required)
• Current BLS and CPR (required)
• EPIC experience (required)
• Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room (OR) experience
• Successful completion of prior travel assignments preferred
• ACLS preferred
• PALS preferred
• Willingness to work day shifts and some weekends, and to float to the main OR when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and Operating Room (OR) nursing principles
• Experience with outpatient surgery workflows and trauma center practices
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation and charting
• Strong patient assessment and intraoperative monitoring skills
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
• Familiarity with sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR safety protocols
