Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients on the Medical Oncology unit
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other oncology medications safely
• Monitor patients closely for side effects and adverse reactions, responding quickly
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and symptom management
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EHR

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Previous oncology or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Completion of Trinity Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen and health screening requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of oncology nursing principles and chemotherapy administration
• Excellent IV therapy and central line management skills
• Critical thinking and rapid assessment abilities
• Proficiency with electronic health records
• Outstanding communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
