Location: Des Moines, IA

Start Date: 07-13-2026

End Date: 11-10-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, every other to every third weekend, every other holiday, no on-call

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, ensuring safe delivery
Assist with circulating duties in the operating room for cesarean sections
Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the care team to support birth plans
Educate families on postpartum care and newborn feeding
Respond quickly to emergencies and stabilize patients as needed

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa (or compact state)
Minimum 1-2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required
Fetal Heart Monitoring certification strongly preferred
Circulating experience is a big plus
Passion for women's health and family-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

Expert in fetal monitoring and interpretation
Skilled in circulating for C-sections and assisting with deliveries
Knowledge of maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancies
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to stay calm and focused in fast-paced environments
Proficient with electronic medical records
