Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and respond to changes
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
• Manage and maintain mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records
• Respond to emergency respiratory situations and code blues

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist licensure in the state of Iowa
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care or hospital setting preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every 3rd weekend
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
