Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients with respiratory conditions to develop individualized care plans
• Administer respiratory treatments such as oxygen therapy, nebulizers, and aerosol medications
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators for critically ill patients
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory care and equipment
• Document patient progress and response to treatments accurately

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Active Iowa Respiratory Therapist license or compact eligibility
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• New graduates are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of respiratory therapy principles and techniques
• Proficient in ventilator management and airway care
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rotating shift environment
