Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care across age ranges — from neonates to adults
• Manage ventilators and tailor ventilator strategies to patient needs
• Draw and interpret ABGs to inform timely clinical decisions
• Assist with intubations and support airway management during procedures
• Deliver therapies such as nebulizer treatment, Metaneb, IPPB and CPT
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other therapists to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about respiratory care plans and home strategies

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital respiratory therapy experience (ICU, NICU, or ED experience highly valued)
• Able to draw ABGs and perform advanced respiratory procedures
• Experience working with all patient age ranges
• Comfortable assisting with intubation and advanced airway support
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation preferred

Education

• RRT credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management skills (experience with Servo I a plus)
• ABG interpretation and arterial puncture proficiency
• Familiarity with I-Stat point-of-care testing
• Proficient with nebulizer therapy, Metaneb, IPPB, and CPT techniques
• Excellent patient communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced ICU/ED/NICU environments
• Accurate clinical documentation and teamwork
