Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting
• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and respond to changes
• Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory treatments
• Manage and adjust mechanical ventilators as prescribed
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and equipment

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (Iowa or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Fit test and health screening compliance

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of ventilator management
• Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Comfort with electronic medical records
• Effective communication with patients, families, and staff
