Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation for ICU, med-surg and ED patients using AVEA and Hamilton C1 ventilators
• Perform thorough respiratory assessments and deliver evidence-based therapies to improve patient outcomes
• Respond to respiratory emergencies in the ED and inpatient units with calm, decisive action
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Accurately document assessments and interventions in Meditech to keep patient records current
• Educate patients and families on airway management, inhaler use, discharge plans and preventive care
• Participate in weekend/night coverage and support continuity of care across shifts

Qualifications

• Active RT License (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred/required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NRP certification required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (ICU/Med-Surg/ED experience highly valued)
• Comfortable with night shift 12-hour schedules and travel assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong mechanical ventilation skills and ventilator management
• Hands-on experience with AVEA and Hamilton C1 ventilators
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical record
• ICU, Med-Surg and ED respiratory care workflows and patient ratios
• ABG interpretation, airway management and emergency response
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical environments
