Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, including weekends, with flexible scheduling

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to surgical patients in a 34-bed adult surgical unit
Monitor and manage pre and postoperative care for abdominal surgeries, chest tubes, drains, and more
Administer medications via IV and PCA pumps, document in EMR (Point Click)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Float to other units as needed to support patient care

Qualifications

Active Hawaii RN license (must obtain upon acceptance if not currently held)
Minimum 2 years of experience in surgical nursing
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience with abdominal surgeries and postoperative care preferred

Education

REQUIRED: BLS. ACLS.
Shift or schedule requirements.
Travelers will be assigned three 12 hour shifts per week.
Floating to other units/departments.
Travelers may be assigned to float to other units.
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
1 RN to 5
6 patients.
Dress Code:
Regular nursing uniforms.

Knowledge & Skills

Surgical pre/postoperative nursing skills
IV and PCA pump management
EMR charting (Point Click)
Abdominal surgery care including lap chole, appy, mastectomies, thyroidectomies
Chest tube and drain management
