Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in patient status
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document in the chart
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
• Respond promptly to patient needs, alarms, and overnight admissions
• Support patients and families with clear communication and empathy
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (or Licensed Practical Nurse where applicable) in the state of practice
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Comfortable and competent working overnight/night shift duties
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-first attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced facility and prioritize patient needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing; BSN preferred where applicable
• LPN candidates: Practical Nursing certificate or diploma

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring during overnight care
• Medication administration and documentation
• Familiarity with electronic health record charting
• Basic wound care, IV management, and post-procedural monitoring
• Infection prevention practices and safe patient handling
• Effective handoff communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
