Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, skilled nursing care to psychiatric patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Room patients, assess vital signs, and document health histories and screening tools like PHQ-9.
- Administer medications and injections safely, honoring informed consent and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate care across psychiatric providers, primary care, pharmacies, and community partners.
- Manage telephone triage, patient education, and follow-up instructions with clear documentation.
- Process medication refills, prior authorizations, and referrals to keep patient care moving forward.
- Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation that meets Joint Commission and legal standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support onboarding for new nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN license and current BLS certification must be in hand at time of submission.
- At least 2 years of RN experience in an outpatient clinic or mental health clinic setting.
- Recent Cerner experience within the last 6 months.
- Prior behavioral health experience is highly preferred; CPI certification is a plus.
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements.
- Comfort supporting psychiatric patients in a clinic environment.
Education
- <p> <b><u>Education and Experience Requirements</u></b></p>
- <p><b>Required: </b></p>
- <ul><li>Current Registered Nurse licensure with the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing</li><li>Current BLS certification</li><li>Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license and maintain unrestricted driving privileges throughout employment and have use of a personal car.</li><li>Must meet and continue to meet all requirements for insurability under the organization's vehicle insurance policy.</li><li>Must be authorized to operate any vehicle and transport clients, patients, or staff as required by the position.</li><li>Ability to care for psychiatric patients in a clinic setting.</li><li>Ability to use EMR for tasks such as medication reconciliation, accessing and updating medical/surgical history, family history, and substance use history.</li><li>Ability to administer and document ordered medications following all guidelines as indicated by consent forms.</li></ul>
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident EMR skills, especially with Cerner.
- Clear, caring communication with patients, families, providers, and community partners.
- De-escalation skills and the ability to maintain therapeutic relationships.
- Great multitasking and prioritization with 10-20 patients per shift.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, monitoring protocols, and prior authorization processes.
