Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to patients
• Assess patients' oral health and document findings in the dental record
• Take and process dental radiographs as needed
• Educate patients on preventive care and proper oral hygiene techniques
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure a smooth workflow
• Maintain rigorous infection control standards and sterilize instruments appropriately

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong clinical skills and attention to patient safety
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate chairside manner
• Experience taking dental X-rays and using dental software is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene practices and instruments
• Comfortable with dental radiography and imaging techniques
• Understanding of OSHA and infection control guidelines
• Ability to educate and connect with a variety of patients
• Strong time management and adaptability in a clinical setting
• Teamwork skills to partner with the dentist and office staff
