Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile OR suites and supplies for a high-volume schedule of 15-25 cases per day
• Scrub in on orthopedic, neuro/spine, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT procedures
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating needs throughout each case
• Document accurately in Cerner Surginet and follow facility-specific OR processes
• Work collaboratively with charge nurses, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to keep cases running smoothly

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience
• BLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Experience with Cerner Surginet is highly preferred
• Ability to scrub orthopedic surgery cases is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care OR environment

• Call: 1 shift per week, every 4th weekend
• Shifts: variable starts 6am-9am w/call

• Floor specific orientation: 1 week of paperwork orientation and one week partnered up with a preceptor
• Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Main OR-Mostly ortho cases such as all totals (hips, knees, joints)
• Pavilion-neuro and ortho spine, CV cases (specific team works these), general, gynecology, urology, ENT
• Additional Notes: 15-25 cases per day
• 400 per month
• 20-25% of cases are inpatient
• only do CV cases or robotic cases if experience with these
• must have at least 2 years OR experience
• very particular processes in the OR suites here
• really prefer nurses w/ Cerner Surginet experience
• anesthesia all done by anesthesiologists (no CRNAs)
• critical patients go directly to ICU from the OR (Prefer 26 week contracts)
