Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Help with positioning, transferring, and mobility to keep residents safe and comfortable
  • Take and record vital signs and promptly report changes to nursing staff
  • Support residents during meals with feeding assistance and intake monitoring
  • Maintain a clean, orderly environment and follow infection control protocols
  • Engage with residents in a kind, respectful way that promotes their dignity and independence

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in Delaware
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain before starting
  • Must meet Delaware DHSS background check and fingerprinting requirements
  • COVID-19 vaccination or documented medical/religious exemption
  • Compassionate, dependable, and comfortable in a long-term care setting
  • Great communication skills and a team-player attitude

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of resident care procedures and safety protocols
  • Skill in accurately taking and recording vital signs
  • Ability to assist with activities of daily living and mobility needs
  • Strong observational skills to identify changes in resident condition
  • Understanding of HIPAA and resident rights
  • Physical capability to lift, transfer, and support residents safely
