Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Help with positioning, transferring, and mobility to keep residents safe and comfortable
- Take and record vital signs and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Support residents during meals with feeding assistance and intake monitoring
- Maintain a clean, orderly environment and follow infection control protocols
- Engage with residents in a kind, respectful way that promotes their dignity and independence
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in Delaware
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain before starting
- Must meet Delaware DHSS background check and fingerprinting requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination or documented medical/religious exemption
- Compassionate, dependable, and comfortable in a long-term care setting
- Great communication skills and a team-player attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care procedures and safety protocols
- Skill in accurately taking and recording vital signs
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living and mobility needs
- Strong observational skills to identify changes in resident condition
- Understanding of HIPAA and resident rights
- Physical capability to lift, transfer, and support residents safely
