Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, temperature, pulse, and respiration
- Provide compassionate care and emotional support to residents and their families
- Help with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment
- Document care delivered and report any changes in resident condition promptly
- Collaborate with nurses and other team members to promote optimal health outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Delaware
- Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting through the Delaware DHSS Background Check Center
- COVID-19 vaccination or documented medical/religious exemption
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality, person-centered care
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent communication and bedside manner
- Knowledge of infection control and safety practices
- Skill in monitoring vital signs and observing changes in patient condition
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Empathy, patience, and physical stamina
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
