Registered Nurse - Long Term Care (LTC)
Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
Start Date: 09-22-2026
End Date: 12-19-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: NOC shift, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM; every other weekend and holidays as needed. 40 or 48 hours per week
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to residents in long-term care, rehab, dementia, and ventilator units
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring residents' conditions
- Float confidently to all assigned units, delivering consistent, high-quality care
- Collaborate with CNAs and the interdisciplinary team to support each resident's physical and emotional well-being
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely, accurate manner
- Respond quickly to changes in resident status and follow emergency protocols including BLS
- Support ventilator-dependent residents with expert assessment and a calm, reassuring presence
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN license - must be in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience in long-term care, rehab, or dementia care is strongly preferred
- Comfort with ventilator management is a plus, but candidates eager to learn will be considered
- Willingness to work NOC shifts, every other weekend, and holidays as needed
- Ability to float to all units, including long-term care, rehab, dementia care, and the vents unit
- Ability to pass a medication administration exam, unit competency exam, and required health screenings
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation
- Resident assessment, monitoring, and critical thinking
- Long-term care, rehab, and dementia care principles
- Ventilator management skills (preferred, not required)
- Strong teamwork and clear communication with CNAs and other healthcare staff
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced care environment
