Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and operatories for orthodontic procedures
• Assist the orthodontist with exams, bonding, and appliance adjustments
• Take impressions, X-rays, and digital scans
• Sterilize and organize dental instruments following infection control standards
• Educate patients on braces care and maintenance
• Maintain electronic patient records with accuracy

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Dental Assistant certification or eligibility
• Orthodontic certification required
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Experience in orthodontics is preferred
• Kind heart and an eye for detail at the chairside

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of orthodontic tools, brackets, wires, and procedures
• Comfort using dental software and digital imaging
• Strong clinical sterilization and safety habits
• Great communication with patients of all ages
• Ability to assist efficiently during back-to-back appointments
