Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, making every patient feel at ease
• Prepare operatories and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe, hygienic environment
• Take and process dental X-rays with precision and care
• Help manage the flow of the clinic, from seating patients to updating treatment records in Denticon
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care following their treatment
• Ensure all treatment suite tools and supplies are stocked and ready for each procedure

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Assistant certification or ability to meet state requirements
• Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or strong interest in orthodontics
• Current dental X-ray certification or willingness to obtain it
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yet patient-focused environment
• Excellent people skills with a warm, empathetic chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and materials
• Familiarity with Denticon dental practice management software
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization best practices
• Strong documentation skills for precise patient records
• Ability to multitask while staying organized and detail-oriented
