Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill medical-surgical ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamic status, and lab values to detect changes early
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, titrate vasoactive drips, and manage ventilator settings as ordered
• Respond quickly and confidently to rapid changes in patient condition and initiate emergency protocols
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and uphold the highest patient safety standards
• Act as a patient advocate and ensure a comforting, supportive environment during a critical time

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact state
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• Strong critical care background is required; open heart experience is not necessary
• Prior MSICU, ICU, or critical care experience highly preferred
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
