Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Surgical ICU
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, detecting subtle changes and responding quickly
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and perform advanced interventions as ordered
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized care plans
• Educate and support patients and their families during challenging health journeys
• Participate in code responses and emergency situations with confidence and skill

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered RN license in Connecticut or a compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong critical care background with recent ICU experience
• Open heart experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to think quickly and remain calm in high-pressure situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of critical care protocols and monitoring equipment
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Compassion and empathy when caring for patients and families
