Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and manage life-support equipment
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and post-ICU care
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status and initiate emergency interventions when needed
• Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and documentation

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Connecticut or a compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Strong critical care background; MSICU or ICU experience preferred
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and health requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing skills, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Clinical assessment and decision-making in high-pressure environments
• Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary providers
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation standards
