Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thoughtful, thorough nursing assessments using the nursing process to identify patient needs
• Develop individualized care plans that reflect patient goals and evidence-based practice
• Deliver skilled nursing interventions for medical-surgical patients while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses, adjusting care plans and communicating changes to the team
• Build meaningful relationships with patients and families to promote trust and better outcomes
• Provide safe, compassionate care within unit staffing ratios and hospital policies
• Document patient care and progress clearly and timely, supporting continuity of care

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program - required
• Current Kansas Registered Nurse license required; active Kansas or compact RN required at submission
• BLS certification required
• New graduates are welcome to apply (Nurse Residency Program available)
• Strong teamwork mindset and ability to build patient relationships
• Commitment to professional standards, patient safety and continuous improvement

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical nursing skills and comfort with a range of adult medical and surgical diagnoses
• Nursing assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation using professional standards
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and safe patient handling
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced inpatient settings
• Patient relationship-building and family-centered care
• Ability to prioritize, delegate and manage time effectively on busy units
