Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement high-quality nursing care for medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients in a 42-bed Med Surg unit
• Collaborate with a dedicated CNA and virtual nurse in an innovative dyad care model
• Administer medications, including heparin drips, and monitor patients on telemetry
• Document patient progress accurately in EPIC
• Float to PCU or Burn units as needed to support the team
• Participate in unit orientation and pass the open-book skills exam during on-boarding

Qualifications

• Active RN license to submit (required)
• BLS certification (AHA) or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Valid driver's license (used to verify 50-mile radius rule)
• No artificial nails in patient care areas per policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, including orthopedics and post-operative care
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and titratable drips (heparin)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for integrated care model
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Proficient in EPIC electronic health records
