Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans for patients with surgical and medical conditions
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry, responding promptly to changes
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care thoroughly in EPIC charting system
• Float to different units as needed, demonstrating adaptability and comprehensive nursing skills

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
• BLS certification required
• 2+ years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Ability to float to various units within the hospital

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring and interpretation (with monitor tech support)
• Familiarity with equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Experience caring for patients with CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetes, and post-surgical conditions
• Excellent critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Adaptability and flexibility to work in different settings
