Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of conditions, from chest pain to respiratory distress.
• Assess, triage, and stabilize critically ill patients, including initiating and managing common IV drips such as Levo, Epi, and Propofol.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of ED physicians, mid-levels, and techs to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage behavioral health patients in dedicated safe rooms, providing de-escalation and patient-centered care.
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC, maintaining meticulous documentation for every patient interaction.
• Float occasionally between Memorial campuses as needed, helping to ensure coverage and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
• Active RN license to submit (Georgia or compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• ENPC or PALS certification required
• Must be proficient in EPIC charting system
• Ability to handle high acuity patients and work independently in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing accepted (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and procedures
• Expertise in caring for acute medical conditions such as stroke, STEMI, and sepsis
• Comfortable working with behavioral health patients and de-escalation techniques
• Excellent critical thinking and multitasking skills
• Adaptable and self-sufficient in a dynamic healthcare setting
