Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity labor and delivery nursing care, monitoring maternal and fetal status with vigilance and compassion
• Circulate and assist during cesarean sections and support OR scrub/ circulating roles as needed
• Manage IV medication administration including drips such as magnesium sulfate safely and effectively
• Perform triage assessments in OB triage rooms and prioritize care based on acuity
• Conduct fetal heart rate monitoring and communicate findings clearly to the care team
• Support antepartum and PACU care, ensuring excellent patient experience from admission through recovery
• Document care in Meditech accurately and promptly to maintain continuity and compliance

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Certifications required/expected: BLS, ACLS, NRP
• AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate certification listed for the facility (preferred; facility notes EFM intermediate is not required)
• Experience with high-acuity L&D care, C-sections, epidurals and IV drip management
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Comfort with fast-paced units and the ability to float within women’s and children’s service line

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery clinical best practices and maternal/fetal assessment
• Fetal heart rate monitoring interpretation and communication
• Perioperative support for C-sections (circulating and scrub familiarity)
• IV medication administration and drip management (e.g., magnesium sulfate)
• High-acuity patient management and escalation
• Meditech documentation proficiency
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary women’s and children’s service line
