Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and delivery care including fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart patterns
• Start and maintain IVs, manage infusions and administer medications such as magnesium sulfate and oxytocin
• Assist and circulate for C-sections and support immediate post-operative recovery
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR assessments and thermoregulation
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic charting
• Support postpartum patients with wound care, breastfeeding support, and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Place and manage intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) and spiral electrodes as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — IV teams, respiratory, pharmacy, rapid response — to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• Proven experience with Epic electronic charting required
• Strong IV start skills and hands-on L&D clinical experience
• Preferred: AWHONN Advanced, NCC C-EFM, and previous travel nurse experience
• Ability to float within the OSU organization as needed and work night shifts

• External and internal fetal monitoring (EFM) and fetal heart rate interpretation
• Spiral electrode and IUPC placement and calibration
• Neonatal resuscitation and delivery room newborn care
• C-section assistance and postoperative recovery care
• IV therapy, central line maintenance, blood product administration
• Telemetry interpretation and management of emergency obstetrical situations
• Epic electronic health record proficiency
• Pain management including epidural anesthesia support and assessment
