Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate care across multiple ICU units including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU
• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital as the designated charge nurse
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Float to various acuity levels including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele as needed
• Interpret telemetry strips and manage respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Collaborate with RTs and support staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or compact license
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with prior charge nurse experience
• Epic experience preferred, especially for first-time travelers who need 3+ years ICU experience
• Comfortable floating within a 60-mile radius and adapting to various facility needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and decision-making abilities
• Experience managing high-acuity patients on CRRT, IABP, and Impella
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry independently
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for charge responsibilities
• Flexibility to work across multiple ICU specialties and float to different acuity levels
