Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care for GI and multi-procedure patients, ensuring safety and comfort
• Scrub and circulate during procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy and other specialty procedures
• Administer and closely monitor conscious sedation; manage recovery in the post-procedure area
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic, adhering to EPIC HARDSTOP requirements
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy and Social Services to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain patient ratios and manage a caseload consistent with a 1:3 day ratio
• Participate in unit call rotation and provide dependable coverage for evenings and scheduled weekend shifts

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (pending licenses are not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience (REQ: 2 years); experience in GI/endoscopy or procedural units preferred
• Comfortable with Epic charting and EPIC HARDSTOP workflows (Epic charting required)
• Experience with conscious sedation administration and monitoring
• Ability to scrub and circulate for procedures (colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy, etc.)
• Preferred: previous charge experience and teaching hospital experience
• First-timers accepted

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Epic electronic charting and EPIC HARDSTOP compliance
• Peri-procedural nursing for GI/endoscopy and multi-procedure units
• Administering and monitoring conscious sedation
• Scrub and circulating techniques
• Post-procedure recovery and patient assessment
• Familiarity with specialized procedures: ERCP, EUS, bone marrow biopsy, loop recorder, cystoscopy and more
• Strong communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary support services
