Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver fast, compassionate emergency care to patients facing everything from chest pain to trauma
• Triage and assess patients quickly to spot who needs help first
• Administer medications, start IVs, and carry out treatments with confidence
• Partner with physicians, paramedics, and fellow nurses to keep the department moving
• Chart accurately and promptly so nothing falls through the cracks
• Reassure patients and families during some of their most stressful moments
• Keep BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP knowledge sharp and ready for anything

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license verifiable through Nursys
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (NRP is a plus)
• Emergency Department nursing experience so you can hit the ground running
• Proof of MMR and Varicella vaccination or an attestation of vaccination or declination
• Availability to attend orientation on 9/14 and work the strike on 9/15
• Steady nerves, sharp critical thinking, and a team-first attitude

Education

• New candidates need to be able to attend orientation on 9/14 as well as work the strike on 9/15.

• Emergency Department nursing practice
• Triage and rapid patient assessment
• Acute care interventions and medication administration
• IV insertion and patient monitoring
• Electronic medical record documentation
• Calm, clear communication under pressure
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Skills Checklist, and Specialty Exam
