Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in the CICU
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and vital signs, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications, titrate cardiac drips, and support life-saving interventions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions and recovery
• Document care accurately and maintain a safe, healing environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Connecticut or the ability to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong critical care background; open heart experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to complete Trinity skills checklist and specialty competency testing
• Ability to meet health and immunization requirements including drug screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in critical care nursing and CICU patient management
• Strong understanding of cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic support
• Ability to stay calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Proficiency in electronic health records and clinical documentation
