Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and patient safety
• Monitor and assess patients' hemodynamic status, vitals, and EKG rhythms throughout procedures
• Administer medications, sedatives, and contrast agents as ordered, watching for adverse reactions
• Provide compassionate pre- and post-procedure care, including patient education and recovery support
• Collaborate with the Cath Lab team to maintain efficient workflow and high-quality outcomes
• Document procedures accurately and manage cath lab inventory and equipment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact multi-state license
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Previous Cath Lab, critical care, or telemetry nursing experience preferred
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and work every third weekend
• Strong IV skills and comfort with hemodynamic monitoring

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common interventional procedures
• Skilled in sterile technique, catheterization lab protocols, and radiation safety
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations
• Strong patient advocacy and communication abilities
• Comfortable working with electronic health records and cath lab equipment
