Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess cardiac patients, interpreting telemetry and responding to changes in condition
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips, and manage patient care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive cardiac care
• Provide patient and family education on heart health and post-discharge care
• Float between Mercy Main and West Des Moines to ensure staffing coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa (or compact license) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• Previous experience in cardiac nursing or critical care preferred
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, telemetry, and cardiac medications
• Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills
• Adaptability and willingness to float between facilities
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
