Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults in an acute care setting
• Assess patients regularly and develop individualized care plans that drive outcomes
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and manage IV therapies safely
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain rigorous infection control, safety, and quality standards
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Prior acute care nursing experience preferred (per diem roles welcome for new grads with strong clinical skills)
• Current immunizations and up-to-date TB screening as required by facility
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV management
• Wound care, monitoring, and basic procedures relevant to inpatient nursing
• Proficient charting in electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Prioritization, time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
