Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, delivering therapeutic procedures and modalities with compassion and skill
• Use assistive devices and hands-on techniques to restore muscle strength, range of motion, coordination, mobility, and body alignment
• Implement individualized treatment plans to reduce pain and improve functional movement and activities of daily living
• Document patient progress accurately and communicate changes to the supervising PT to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, use of assistive devices, and strategies to support recovery and prevent reinjury
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered outcomes and efficient clinic operations
• Maintain compliance with the State Practice Act and clinic policies to ensure safe, ethical practice

Qualifications

• Valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) — required
• Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program — required
• Comfortable performing therapeutic procedures, modalities, and using assistive devices
• Ability to follow treatment plans under PT supervision and clearly document patient care

Education

• Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care best practices with a focus on functional outcomes
• Therapeutic procedures and modalities used in physical rehabilitation
• Safe use of assistive devices and mobility training
• Restore range of motion and muscle strength with evidence-based techniques
• Pain management strategies and activity modification
• Strong communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
