Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute care hospital setting to determine needs and plan treatment
• Develop individualized care plans that target function, mobility, and safe discharge
• Deliver therapeutic interventions across orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary cases
• Document patient progress and plans clearly and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, speech therapists, and rehab techs
• Use patient lifting equipment and safe handling techniques to protect patients and staff
• Communicate assessment results and progress to patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through compassionate, professional care

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (must have)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (as requested by hiring profile)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (job lists Experience: 2)
• Acute care experience preferred (at least 1 year preferred per unit specifics)
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary patient populations is helpful
• Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart or similar EMR preferred

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation and development of individualized care plans
• Proficient in a range of therapeutic interventions for acute care rehab
• Strong documentation skills within Cerner PowerChart
• Comfortable supervising and coordinating interdisciplinary therapeutic care
• Knowledgeable and practiced with patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove)
• Excellent communication and patient/family education skills
• Ability to manage a caseload in a fast-paced acute care environment
