Roles & Responsibilities

  • Help create confident, healthy smiles by assisting the orthodontist with everything from braces adjustments to patient consultations.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments so each patient gets a safe and comfortable experience.
  • Take digital X-rays and dental impressions, making sure every diagnostic step is smooth and stress-free.
  • Walk patients through their orthodontic journey with clear, caring instructions on oral hygiene and appliance care.
  • Keep accurate records and manage office flow so appointments stay on time.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming environment and stock supplies to keep the day running efficiently.

Qualifications

  • You're a certified dental assistant with current Maryland credentials or the ability to obtain them.
  • You're comfortable taking X-rays and have current radiology certification plus CPR/BLS.
  • You've worked in orthodontics before or you're excited to learn from a supportive team.
  • Your communication skills are top-notch and you know how to put nervous patients at ease.
  • You're dependable and ready to jump into a busy practice with a positive attitude.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Clinical knowledge of orthodontic instruments, brackets, bands, and wires.
  • Ability to take high-quality dental radiographs and intraoral scans.
  • Strong understanding of infection control and OSHA safety standards.
  • Tech savvy with dental practice management software.
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent follow-through on patient care tasks.
