Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures by preparing patients and equipment
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments while maintaining strict infection control standards
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
• Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care guidance
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment scheduling
• Keep the treatment room well-stocked, organized, and ready for each patient
• Support a positive, comfortable patient experience with a warm and caring attitude

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
• Orthodontic certification required
• Current radiography (X-ray) certification in the state of Maryland
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a dental care team
• Prior experience in orthodontic assisting is a bonus

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Proficiency with dental software and patient management systems
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization techniques
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Attention to detail for accurate patient records
• Empathy and a patient-first approach
