Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, plus rotating call. Call includes one short call (7:30 PM - 11:00 PM) or one long call (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) each week and one to two 24-hour weekend calls (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM) per six week grid, rotated on a fair basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional intraoperative care as a key member of the surgical team
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field so every procedure starts safely and smoothly
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and surgical technologists in real time
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort before, during and after surgery
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and keep instruments, supplies and equipment ready
• Handle call coverage responsibilities with confidence and dependability
• Document care accurately and keep communication clear across every handoff

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Rhode Island, or compact eligibility
• Current BLS certification
• Solid operating room nursing experience, scrub and circulator skills welcome
• Comfort with a rotating call schedule including weekend call
• Willingness to complete a skills checklist, specialty competency exam and basic EKG and pharmacology exams
• Ability to submit requested time off before the start date so the manager can review
• Up-to-date health records including COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza and TB screening
