Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Day). First-call rotation approximately every 5-6 weeks: Tuesday 4:30 PM - Wednesday 8:00 AM and Friday 4:30 PM - Monday 8:00 AM (overnight/extended call) with onsite inpatient rounding Saturday & Sunday when covering call (rotating/extended call coverage).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage bone marrow transplant patients and coordinate complex oncology care
• Administer and oversee chemotherapy treatments following oncology protocols
• Provide inpatient rounding on weekends and coordinate transitions of care
• Answer patient and hospital calls while on first-call rotation and triage effectively
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging to guide treatment plans
• Manage blood bank issues and ensure safe transfusion practices
• Prescribe therapies and document all care thoroughly in EPIC
• Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) credential with demonstrable oncology experience
• Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncology patients (inpatient & outpatient)
• Prior exposure to bone marrow transplant patient management preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR for documentation and orders
• Comfort with first-call responsibilities, overnight/extended call coverage, and onsite weekend rounding

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical oncology and hematology knowledge (benign and malignant disease focus)
• Chemotherapy administration and safety practices
• Inpatient rounding and outpatient oncology clinic workflows
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging
• Blood bank/transfusion management
• Strong clinical judgment, patient triage, and communication skills
