Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide life-saving respiratory support to critically ill neonates in the NICU
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, CPAP, and mechanical ventilation
• Assess and evaluate each patient's respiratory status and adjust care plans accordingly
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care
• Assist with intubation, surfactant delivery, and emergency neonatal resuscitation when needed
• Educate and empower families to understand their baby's respiratory care and treatment goals

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapy license in Ohio or the ability to obtain one before starting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Prior NICU respiratory therapy experience strongly preferred
• Must meet all health requirements including COVID-19 vaccination, drug screen, and physical
• Ability to work night shifts and thrive in a fast-paced, specialized NICU environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal respiratory assessment and monitoring
• Mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and BiPAP support
• Blood gas analysis and ventilator management
• Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation protocols
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfort with electronic health records and respiratory equipment
