Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM (shifts vary); call requirements include two to three 12-hour weekend shifts per six-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), one asterisk call shift per week, and holiday call coverage.

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized nursing care for Trauma, Neuro, and Ortho surgical cases
• Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping before surgery
• Monitor patient vitals and anesthesia response throughout operations
• Document intraoperative care accurately and efficiently
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Respond calmly and effectively during emergency surgeries and on-call shifts

Qualifications

• Active Idaho RN license (or ability to obtain one before start)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proven experience in Trauma, Neuro, and Ortho surgical nursing
• Ability to commit to call shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of OR protocols, aseptic technique, and surgical instrumentation
• Strong critical thinking skills for fast-paced surgical environments
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff
• Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Familiarity with electronic health records and OR documentation
• Flexibility to respond to call within a reasonable timeframe
