Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity critical care to SICU patients, including post-operative and acutely ill individuals
• Monitor and assess complex patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, GI scopes, and invasive lines
• Administer medications, manage ventilators, and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and adjust individualized care plans
• Document accurately in Meditech while maintaining compliance with unit policies
• Float to other units as needed to support the Methodist Hospital team

Qualifications

• Active TX RN license in good standing, temporary licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with MICU or MSICU populations is a plus
• Exposure to IABP and CRRT preferred
• Meditech documentation experience preferred
• Comfortable with central lines, art lines, and intubations
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced critical care environment
