Roles & Responsibilities

Apply a holistic approach to deliver medical social services that help patients and families overcome physical, social, emotional, and environmental challenges
Support individuals of all ages from newborns to elders in achieving optimal health
Collaborate with healthcare teams and work independently to make a real difference
Step up to supervisory tasks when needed, ensuring smooth operations

Qualifications

MSW from an accredited school of Social Work
One year experience in hospital or health-care setting
State of Alaska license at Master’s level (LMSW) required or eligibility
Valid Alaska State driver’s license
Basic knowledge of computer use

Education

MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school

Knowledge & Skills

Ability to read, comprehend and write at college level
Effective communication in one-on-one and group settings
Basic math skills including rates, ratios, and graphs
Experience in cross-cultural settings preferred
Bilingual in English and Yup'ik a plus
