Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Waldorf, MD
Start Date: 09-06-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Sunday, September 6, 2026, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (30-minute meal break)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate day-to-day care and assistance to geriatric residents
- Support residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort
- Document and report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff
- Help with mealtimes, including feeding assistance and monitoring intake
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Qualifications
- Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant training program
- Current CPR/BLS certification (as required by facility)
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with facility requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption per facility policy
Knowledge & Skills
- Genuine compassion and patience for working with older adults
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of residents' rights and confidentiality
- Ability to respond calmly and confidently in changing situations
