Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists with patient care, including preparing patients and equipment for procedures
- Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions, ensuring accuracy and comfort for patients
- Teach patients proper oral hygiene and care for braces, aligners, and retainers
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments to maintain a clean, safe clinical environment
- Schedule appointments, update patient records, and support the flow of the office
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or willingness to obtain certification
- Current X-ray certification in Maryland
- Experience in orthodontics is a plus, but we welcome those with a passion to learn
- Excellent communication and patient-service skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and move between chairs and clinic areas
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
- Proficiency with dental software for patient records and imaging
- Strong attention to detail and infection control standards
- Compassionate approach to patient care, especially for children and teens
- Team player who thrives in a fast-paced practice
